This is my first fountain pen purchase in years, and the thousands of positive reviews for this one did NOT lie. The weight screams quality and durability, like I could prise open a car door with it. The all-black aesthetic gives it an elegant but no-nonsense look. The textured barrel isn’t overly aggressive and feels quite comfortable. Mine’s loaded with Pelikan Royal Blue, which makes this pen even more of a total workhorse, and it performs beautifully every time I upcap it. This is one of the few of my pens that I have no worries about posting because of the isolated section of the barrel where the cap locks on. The cap has a very satisfying click with just a tad of resistance. This pen is a fantastic way to dip your toe in the fountain pen pool for cheap and still have a great experience. I’d definitely buy another Hongdian.
