You may have won some Windstream battles, I mean Verizon, but you didn't win the war. I found that they had removed all the pay phones and my Windstream landline was down most of the time, forcing me to buy a cell phone. I knew nothing about cell phones and it cost me hundreds of dollars to get it working. with a smartphone that can connect to the internet so I had to try and it cost me thousands of dollars trying different smartphones and switching from one carrier to another and I found the Samsung Galaxy S 5 to be the best for my needs was because I had turned down my Windstream landline due to the high price and poor service. I was desperately trying to connect the internet to my computer. It took me several years to learn about hot spot and tethering. Hey, here's the strongest signal. You do not need an expensive signal amplifier. But my Samsung Galaxy S 5 fell apart so I bought an LG V 30 and then just swapped out the SIM card and back again. In business, it's not as easy when I went to Tether to my computer as I did many times before, but now it won't be tied to my computer. It works but then shuts down and I think it's something Verizon is doing. Verizon's customer service is terrible. Can't do anything with it and because of security freaks. It's close was closed due to the Covid-19 virus so I tried to order a smartphone from the Verizon website. The order was not processed but my LG V 30 uses Hot Spot for other devices such as Nintendo Switch and My LG. So the next idea is to go to YouTube and find a way to bypass Verizon by disabling tethering, but that requires a computer that's connected to the internet, so I'm next. Idea to use WiFi for USB devices and WiFi Ethernet I spent about $140 on WiFi USB devices and Ethernet devices. You can't do anything with Linux, so the next idea was to install Microsoft Windows, but security freaks have it where they can't at home. I've read that Microsoft Windows doesn't work on USB sticks most of the time, so you need to download Windows from the internet? I can't connect my computer to the internet and also Verizon lowers the speed from 18 Mbps to 60 Kbps. Not much faster than the old dial-up connection. It's 2020 now and I can't get anywhere faster than the dial I used 20 years ago. and now they are trying to put 5g on us, which is a health risk for children. I seriously want to hit the CEO of Verizon in the face with a brick. Anyway, I ordered a refurbished computer from the company that installed Microsoft Windows with my smartphone, but when I received the computer only to find that the western digital hard drive was not working upon arrival, the power supply stopped working. I had an old power supply. for backups and got this PC working but without Microsoft Windows but they included a WiFi to USB adapter so I decided to give it a try with some tweaking. It worked without installing any software. On Linux I just had to enter my smartphone password and it worked, but on KDE it was a bit more difficult. KDE publishes 2 security issues, one of which is recommended. That does not work. So I tried Blow-Fish and it worked, but after 30 minutes it started to slow down, so I turned off the WiFi on the smartphone, unplugged the WiFi USB adapter and waited 2 minutes, then reinstalled everything.
