This is not an "external graphics card" like the USB 3.0 adapter sold by Startech. It really is an "adapter" which is why you don't need drivers for Windows and also why it's so cheap compared to others. I was having resolution issues when viewing my Dell Thunderbolt USB-C Dock through the HDMI port. I've tried using this but have the same problem because it uses the same bus as the dock and for some reason the HDMI port resolution is limited when both display ports are used. I should have bought the USB 3.0 adapter. It's a pretty good device if you're just connecting a TV in a conference room or a monitor at a table.
