Where have you been all my life?! Why did I use a knife? I should have tried one of these things years ago. I will never cut eggs by hand again. It reduces the work to a fraction of the time it used to take. I cut twice, once crosswise, once lengthwise, for coarsely chopped eggs for things like potato or pasta salad or coarsely chopped egg salad. Three cuts for a small cut in a square for smaller cuts in egg salad, cut once across, rotate 1/4 turn and cut again, then flip lengthwise and cut a third time, small squares! Or simply cut across or lengthways for fat or long slices for salads and other side dishes.
