Review on Fine-Tuned Precision for Optimal Aquariums, Hydroponics, Testing, Measuring & Inspecting by Justin Dorsett

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not very reliable

1. All three liquids need to be calibrated to give reasonably accurate readings (required when opening new ones, removing/replacing batteries and for any other reason stated in the package instructions) 2. Read the display ONLY after 5 seconds by gently swirling the meter in the sample3. When testing acidic samples, the next reading is likely to be inaccurate even if the meter is flushed. You MUST dip and sample the 6.86 solution before testing other samples. I don't know why this is rated so highly. This meter gave 4-9 PH readings from the same liquid sample (Note: litmus paper can help confirm pH. Some distilled water is labeled as containing minerals that are likely to affect pH.)

Pros
  • pH meter
Cons
  • Not sure
