Great for minor repairs, can't handle moisture

My electrician cut a hole for an electrical box that was too big to cover with wall panel. I didn't have a board big enough to cover the gap, but I didn't want to buy drywall to fix the 1/8 inch gap. .The good news is that it closed the gap and was barely noticeable when swiped. The bad news is that this happens in the bathroom and it seems like the moisture is wrinkling or blowing the strip. This is only noticeable when They're really looking for it, but I don't think it's going to last forever.
