Works when used correctly

I have never used this product before so I looked at MANY reviews first and chose it for the very thin blackhead removal loop. I've heard thicker ones don't work if you have small pores like mine. So this is a VERY thin metal loop and it helps if you use it properly. I learned this the hard way after accidentally peeling off multiple layers of skin resulting in redness, flaking and scarring. Wash your hands before and after and try not to touch your face too often. What you need to do is clean your face and then either use a hot shower, a hot wet towel on your face or gently hold your face over an electric kettle or if you have one, use a facial steamer. After 5-10 minutes your pores will open and your skin will be very soft. Make sure your extractor is sterilized, you can buy an anti-rust solution - regular alcohol causes rust. Then LIGHTLY apply a thin loop around one of your blackheads. You can use a magnifying mirror to see better. Gently roll or rock the loop back and forth, then pull down VERY gently. You don't want to scratch or pull at the skin, and you shouldn't go over the same area more than once. Some eels just aren't ready to come out. Follow with a gentle exfoliating cleanser and toner. If the extractor isn't working on one of your blackheads, try wrapping a clean tissue or toilet paper around each of your index fingers and then applying pressure to both sides of the blackhead (NEVER use your nails!). That's how he comes straight out. There are excellent videos on YouTube on this subject. It's a tool that depends almost entirely on who's using it. The biggest issue I had was that there were some minor scratches on the handle/grip area. The tool was shiny and clean with no fingerprints. The package is again sealed with a ziplock pouch so I'm not sure if it has been opened before. I disinfected anyway (which everyone should do independently before and after each use).
