We used this to boost the sound from an old flat screen TV. To be honest, the TV itself has lousy (weak) outputs. There aren't many inexpensive options to amplify RCA outputs these days. I connected it to my phone via bluetooth and that and the remote worked fine. Even with my phone, the sound wasn't great compared to similarly priced Bluetooth speakers, but these speakers didn't accept RCA inputs either. Other than that it looks good and is easy to use and the price was decent so can't complain too much. We got the TV we use it on for free and I would suggest upgrading the TV rather than spending more on a speaker for the purpose we bought this speaker for.
