This was what I needed to remove the glow plug. I also bought a torque wrench that provides torque in both directions. With the torque involved in removing the old glow plug, there is less chance of breaking the exposed portion of the glow plug and leaving the bottom portion in the engine. Once loosened, you can stop before unscrewing the top of the glow plug.
