This is a genuine Ford part. Exact replacement for my 2010 Ranger tailgate. Supplied in sealed Ford packaging from a Ford dealer. My local dealer wanted $58 for it. Carefully remove the old one. Dental floss helped loosen it. Use a plastic tool such as B. a paring knife to pry up one end. If you use a screwdriver or similar, be careful not to scratch the paint outside the logo area. Then you can take it off. I was able to unroll and peel off the old glue. Clean and dry the area completely. There were no nuts in my tailgate holes unless they broke when removing the old one. But the holes line up perfectly with the prongs of the new one, so it's easy to just put it on. The self-adhesive glue on the new one seems strong enough, but I added some marine epoxy to make sure. Time will tell if the new one will hold up. The packaging says Made in USA. The old one that was faded and peeling was made in Italy. Perhaps the Italians took revenge on Ford (see the film "Ford v Ferrari"). I think Ford wants their logo to stay bright and shiny for years to come! Hope it works.
