Review on πŸŒ€ Automated Blowing Setting Presetter by Robert Howell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Accurate, strong, reliable, good value for money

I bought one of these and hooked it up to a Fanuc Robodrill for automatic tool length measurement. I am very happy with it after about 2 weeks of use and hundreds of measurements. This is very reproducible with an accuracy well below 0.001 inch when the last touch measurement is slow (1 FPM). I am using a Fanuc Oi-Mc controller and am not using the high speed skip inputs. I modified the M code written by Fanuc to set it up to measure any tool length without first estimating the tool length, very robust and convenient. About 5mm lower for Over Z Stop function. I believe the sensor is a precision IC type solid hall effect sensor because it has a small magnetic field on the body and extremely good repeatability. I rate a repeatability of 0.0002 inch at stable temperatures on the machine. I connected both pins to my controller and made sure they worked, one as a skip signal and the other as an external hold signal. The top surface of the sensor is hardened steel and mirror polished, very hard and flat. I accidentally put a .201" drill bit in it while checking for overflow and the drill bit broke but the sensor was not damaged. I can drive a carousel with 14 tools in 2 minutes. I recommend it.

Pros
  • Good value for money
