They are beautiful. Nice aged brass color - not shiny and not new. Heavy, durable construction. We used them as outfit legs and Ikea Callax as record shelves. They worked great. We marked where the holes would be, drilled small pilot holes, and then screwed them in. I say "we" but my 17 year old daughter did all of this with minimal supervision. The legs aren't very slanted, giving it a nice clean look, but there's a slight slant, so make sure they're pointing in the right direction. We had to unscrew one and put it back in, but it didn't make much of a difference.
