Review on Tungsten Automatic Mechnical Chronograph Flywheel by Julio Black

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Beautiful Open Heart Automatic

I use a Fossil Gen 5e Wear OS smartwatch all the time and I LOVE it. It's so useful and I love using the Facer app to change watch faces every day! But when Revain Vine gave me the opportunity to try this great automatic oupinke for free, I couldn't resist the temptation. These watches are perfect for special occasions. Change of clothes as you don't have to worry about a dead watch battery after months of inactivity. Just wind up the watch and you're done. It goes without saying that these watches are beautiful. I have the blue dial version and both the dial and bracelet shine in any light. I should mention that the photos on the product page might lead you to believe that the sapphire crystal is domed; they are not, they are flat. However, although the watch shows excellent times, I deduct a star for several reasons: 1) Does the watch actually have a Swiss movement? Although Oupinke claims to be a Swiss company, there is no "Swiss Movement” or "Made in Switzerland” label anywhere on the watch. I understand that the only watch company not making this distinction is Breguet, but Oupinke, which appears to be a new company, is not Breguet. Even though the product page lists some sort of Swiss "championship certificate," no certificates are included with the watch. And the manufacturer is apparently not averse to falling into ambiguity, for example when claiming that this watch has a "tourbillon window". No, the window that opens the mechanism on the dial of this watch is more properly called the "Open Heart Window". So I'm really not sure where the mechanism comes from and how reliable it is, especially given my next concern. 2) The first example of this watch that I received from Revain had an obvious defect right out of the box: the month register didn't go past January, no matter how hard I pressed the corresponding button. I requested a replacement watch and found that the first sample appeared to be a defective part that was returned by another customer due to items missing or damaged in the gift box. Did the product quality inspector miss his or her job or was the watch broken by another buyer? I can't say, but it got me thinking about the quality of the mechanism. 3) When Oupinke says this watch will last ten years, it may reflect the fact that the year register on the sub-dial only covers years. from 2020 to 2031. Will Oupinke survive 2031 to replace the annual register with a new one covering the next eleven years? As said, this is not a Breguet, so this watch cannot be a relic for future generations. But maybe I'm expecting too much from a $300 watch, no matter how good it looks or how well it tells the time. The watch comes in an impressive gift box with some additional features including a cleaning cloth and a hidden pin. , as well as a tool for removing extra strap links along with a few extra pins if you break them while removing the links. However, I decided to take the watch to my local watch repair shop to have it set up as the instructions that came with it were very complicated. follow and tiny images illustrating them that are impossible to discern. My local mechanic did the whole job in five minutes and only charged me $6. Money well spent! Finally, the titanium construction of the watch case and bracelet is commendable. Titanium is said to be fairly scratch resistant and feels good in the hand - I mean the wrist. The watch is water resistant to a degree - you can wear it in the shower - and the hands and hour markers are luminous, albeit not very bright. Overall I give this watch four stars. ADVANTAGES:* Beautiful design.* Very good timing.* Automatic self-winding movement.* Titanium construction.* Double folding clasp.* Luminous hands and hour markers.* Waterproof.* Very reasonable price if the watch contains a Swiss movement. CONS: * The inclusion of the Swiss movement is doubtful * The first sample had a defective setting of the month register * Ten years lifespan according to the year register.
