This lift is so cheap

Really not that bad for the price. The guide is not suitable for people who cannot stream videos. The rope should be the cheapest, worst rope. That alone makes it problematic. A locking mechanism that pinches the rope quickly wears away this material, which consists of straight fibers in the middle surrounded by a woven material, similar to a finger-trap puzzle. The first time I took a canoe (14 foot Navarro fiberglass that weighs 58#). I could see the outer part of the rope twisting and turning around the inner fiber core. This lifter comes with the worst rope. Also, I wouldn't recommend using snap screws to mount brackets to rafters. Poor way of load distribution and potential problem with frame member separation. I would recommend installing a 2x4 lintel connecting at least 3 rafters, either top and fasten with 2 or 3 small diameter screws, or screw on from the bottom if drywall. Rafter and screw in longer screws because of the drywall. The brackets must be attached to the 2x4 with nylon mounting bolts, washers and nuts.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I have nothing wrong with it everything is fine
