This is a well made bag! I haven't tested the insulating properties because I have yet to use it with chilled white wine, but it will hold a couple of oddly shaped bottles. For example, on a recent trip to South Carolina, I was able to fit an oval bottle of cognac (actually more like old whiskey and bourbon bottles from the 1890s-1920s) in addition to three regular bottles. 750 ml bottles of red wine. No problem. It is very durable and offers a degree of padding. Not much, mind you, but more than my old bags. We use ours for longer day and night trips, but they are perfect for hauling up to four bottles of wine to an event, tasting or a large picnic. I highly recommend this bag
