The most comfortable shoes I've ever had were the men's/youth's Adidas Alphabounce in a size 6. However, they have changed the style of the tongue. Basically the top of the tongue is loose and the rest of the tongue is a fixed size as it is sewn to the body of the shoe. I have a high arch so I usually have to open my shoes on the food bridge but this shoe doesn't allow that. At first I thought I could just rip this seam to give a little more room, but there is no more material under the seam so my sock will be showing in these cuts. The old style was more like slipper socks, so there was no tongue either, but they were a lot more flexible (see last photo). I ordered two more pairs and found that they are made that way as well. I will see how they fit if there is a difference and then decide if they can be salvaged or if I should return them. Another note on the fit, the flex point in the shoe (first photo) initially cut my foot uncomfortably, but with a little kicking it softened up a bit so it probably won't be a problem. I hope if I keep them on the natural wear and tear of the insole will give me a little more room over time. If it weren't for the tightness at the top they would be amazing. The insole and outsole of the shoe are still of the highest comfort quality.
