About two years ago I bought two of these products for use in college portfolio classes. Unlike its Iomega counterpart, the Fuji drives had trouble reading some of my files when I used them on a Macintosh computer. While I'm aware of the dangers of using PC formatted drives on other platforms, I didn't expect the problems I had with these drives. When the Macintosh read discs, some files would appear and disappear and be difficult to access. After putting them back into the PC, I noticed that additional files (which were hidden on the Macintosh) had been added to my drive with names that were nothing but gibberish. I assumed the files were causing problems and removed them. However, the problems persisted and I replaced it with an Iomega ZIP drive. I'm not saying the drives were bad because the problems could be external. However, it made a bad first impression and due to my job I will no longer buy these discs when working on a project that requires multiple platforms. However, for home use where I have a computer, a Fuji disc will suffice. ADDITIVE. Almost three years after I wrote the original review for this product, I bought another Fuji ZIP drive from a local discount store. I never intended to use it on a Mac, but recently I've had to rely on it for Macromedia Flash courses. When I plugged the drive into the MAC yesterday, it responded with a message that it didn't recognize some of the volumes on the drive. After rebooting, the hard drive opened up and everything was fine. However, Fuji's performance was not encouraging and I will replace it with an Iomega drive.
