They cut worse than $14 wire cutters at craft stores. I broke a $65 Firemountain Tronex pliers. I don't remember the model number but my 1st pair was very ergonomic and SUPER sharp, cut like butter. I messed them up by cutting through the steel crimp caps (that was dumb)

Wow! Ever since I started making jewelry I've been using cheaper wire cutters 😄 Once I've tried them I'll never go back! I play around with them a bit though and use lower quality wire cutters for general cutting. But I use them for difficult cuts. I'm glad I did as I've already added a few divisions to the other pair. When changing tools I would try other Tronex products. I like that they are made in the USA. I support American business whenever possible. Feel free to spend big bucks on them!

Tronex is the bomb when it comes to great jewelry pliers. They may be more expensive than other wire cutters you see out there, but they're worth the difference in price! My only warning: don't exceed the maximum recommended wire gauge these (or other wire cutters for that matter) are rated for.
