garbage mountain! for tools and equipment

My husband (electrician) had high hopes for this inverter. He planned to use it as a stand alone power source for our RV with fridge. (Gas/AC - 350W to 300W resistive load cell - delivers up to 800W of solar energy from a 300A deep cycle battery). Within fifteen minutes of his new inverter arriving, my husband hooked it up to our RV's 12-volt battery. He connected the fridge to the inverter and then turned on the inverter, sneaked into the RV and turned on the fridge himself. He said he heard the inverter fan come on, which he then added emphatically, was far from perfect. Then, just a few seconds later, almost immediately after the fan turned on, he heard the roar of the inverter. When he returned to the inverter, the inverter had shut down. He tried to restart the inverter, but the device just wouldn't start. He turned off the inverter and checked the battery voltage; which turns out to be fine. To make sure there were no problems with the fridge load, he then checked the fridge load with his kilowatt meter. His last words on this subject were: It has to be - what a piece of junk! I'm pretty sure he meant the piece... We promptly returned the inverter for a full refund.
