I've had one for decades; I repeat: FOR DECADES! I bought one at a thrift store, I believe in the 1980's. I wanted something I could take with me on a long camping trip, something light. I had no idea how amazing these things are! Fast, easy to use (right-handed; don't know about left-handed), it's my old confidant since I first used it. I've tried other can openers, some prettier or cooler (including the toucan-like one), but they're all disappointing. Even longer-handled versions, some with a hole opener on one end of the handle and a bottle opener on the other, fail or break fairly quickly. Not this one. They're so simple, so simple, they're tough, dependable workhorses. My ten-year-old can opener is still in use, and I'm actually emotionally attached to it. But I'm packing my emergency kit right now and need a spare can opener to keep them in, so I was really happy to see they're still available on AMAZON too! Such a good price, arrived quickly, will last for decades (you can leave them to your grandkids). Absolutely GREAT PURCHASE!
