Review on πŸ•°οΈ Timeless Fun: RoWood Wooden Puzzle Clock for Adults by Jeff Ross

It's fun to build, but be careful.

We got this as a project for my wife and I to build together. All my life I've built something from scratch and from a set, but my wife hasn't done it. It looked fun and it was really nice to put together. The Ikea-style wordless instructions are amazingly clear. The plywood used is of a very high quality and the laser cutting is first class. The whole watch technology is just amazing. Now for the cons. First of all, all these gears don't work by themselves. This is a typical quartz movement that runs on batteries. It works great so if you just need a clock it's fine and there's no loud ticking to keep you awake if you have a clock in your bedroom. You turn the dial on the back to the desired time, then wind the pendulum spring and the second spring to ring the bell at the end of the set time. We've never worked well. Mind you I have restored old mechanical clocks so I know a little bit about how they work and this one is very unstable. Sometimes it runs and it's fun to watch the moving parts. Often he stops halfway. Instead of ringing when time is up, the bell spring GROWS and pops out of place. Watch springs take a lot of stress when being wound and I don't think even the best plywood is good enough to hold them. But seriously, your cell phone has the best timer and is always with you. I don't see the point of using it to tell the time of something important. All in all, I can't say that I regret the purchase and build. Just know it is what it is.
