Set up went very well for a while. The instructions were very clear and concise, detailing each step. Then he suddenly seemed to give up and I couldn't follow him to finish it. The metal spools didn't fit, which didn't help. Overall I really like the face of the watch and will keep it, but I removed most of the back "timer" part as it doesn't work. It looks very cool and at least I have a decent watch.

I did some small details and had fun so why not do something more detailed? It wasn't packed in plastic packaging. It's over 60 days old as is was supposed to be a winter project. Buyers beware - check the packaging, assemble quickly and hope for the best! I don't want a refund, I just want a fun workable project for something I paid for. It's over $50, so I was hoping for more good luck and I hope yours isn't as bad as mine.

I have to say it wasn't easy to assemble. The hardest part for me was reading the small letters and numbers on the parts that give all the details. Even with my bifocals, I found it difficult to read. Some parts are very small. Also, the parts popped out fairly easily and stayed intact. Assembly takes quite a long time, so be prepared for that. I am a big fan when these laser models cut wood. I really like the overall design of this model. I painted mine with stain and metal markers. I used bright eye color. Some parts were a little hard to tear off the sheets, others were a little tight to squeeze. There are several replacement parts, but I didn't have to use any of them. My husband and I have just retired and loved putting this together. together! Really high quality parts! The instructions are very easy to follow. Each step is shown in the diagrams. Although I was a bit disappointed in one thing. The clock part is powered by a battery, not by swinging a pendulum. When you start it, the pendulum will swing and the gears will move until it stops after about an hour. It's nice to hear it click and see the gears move. My grandchildren love it when I raise them…
