Review on πŸ”’ Preserve Your Vehicle Settings with the Schumacher Memory Saver Detector by Eric Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

unusable. Blown OBD fuse in latest BMW model.

This is a reliable device that is very easy to use with detailed instructions. In my case I followed the instructions as prescribed. After changing the battery in a 2014 BMW X1 (E84) I was unable to ignite the dashboard. I found that the OBD and dash share a 5 amp fuse. The Memory Saver Detector appears to have blown an OBD fuse, although it does provide the correct LED sequence when plugged in. Be careful with your application. Not sure if the device saved my settings as I had some but not all. My trip meter and watch needed to be reset. I don't know if the map, presets etc were saved as a memory saver or if the system itself has short term memory.

Pros
  • FUSE: Standard fused input connector provides a secure connection.
Cons
  • Unbelievable price.
