Review on 🔊 Optimized Dayton Audio DC160-8 6.5-inch Classic Woofer by Jeff Gopala

I wasn't expecting too much from a $35 speaker. But it works amazingly well. I built a 14 liter vented box and it has really good and deep bass. Just one thing, initially I had a 2kHz crossover frequency and somehow the frequencies in that range are heavily distorted. It looks like the cone suffers from a lot of breakage. After reducing the crossover to about 1500, the sound was excellent. I ordered a real subwoofer amp with active filtering, so I expect an even lower crossover. The first installation was with passive filtering. If you are building a two-way system remember that you will need to cross frequencies well below 2kHz and your tweeter should be able to handle that.
