Perfect for inexpensive repairs to your Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 THX Sub

For $27, what don't you like? It's not the craziest speaker on planet earth, but it's about the same as the real thing and is easy to install. I think I've had these speakers since they came out and I'm glad they're not going to landfill.

Pros
  • Inspires Confidence
Cons
  • Will be added later

With the right body.

I did a little research and decided to use this speaker in an enclosure I built with holes (photo before sanding/painting). I'm VERY happy with the bass I get from this speaker now in the 2.1 configuration I put together (using a PS95-8 3-1/2 for all mids and highs). For a small system, that's pretty amazing!

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Compatibility

Be careful with returns in an open box!

I bought two for my old EPI M60 speakers. One looked brand new in a damaged box, the other had black putty on the back in another damaged box. So I went back and bought another opened box and it looked brand new when I received it. I saved $10 for a new one, it was worth it. Decent sounding woofer but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have the original bass. You just have to be careful with power and bass, otherwise you can overstretch the membrane.

Pros
  • Heavy duty
Cons
  • Very expensive

You get what you pay for.

Or maybe a little less. I do not know. In any case, they don't sit next to the standard speakers that came with my Advent Prize winners. I lost one of the standard speakers so I fitted two of them between the speakers. Sound quality is compromised by using only one headroom in each speaker and bass guitar frequencies (even high, above 60-200Hz) hum loudly in both speakers. Speakers sound better with a woofer without these two. Dissatisfied. Again, you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Some bugs

Replacement Klipsch ProMedia

How many Bought to replace a blown woofer in a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 PC speaker system. I ditched the cheaper GBR speaker thinking I'd be using it quite a bit. As many have said, this is pretty much a direct replacement, except that the speaker negative (-) wire will need to be crimped or the connector extended to fit. The rest sounds ok. Remember this is 4 ohms and the original is 6 ohms so your volume levels and subwoofer control sensitivity will change.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • There are nuances

Amazing performance

I wasn't expecting too much from a $35 speaker. But it works amazingly well. I built a 14 liter vented box and it has really good and deep bass. Just one thing, initially I had a 2kHz crossover frequency and somehow the frequencies in that range are heavily distorted. It looks like the cone suffers from a lot of breakage. After reducing the crossover to about 1500, the sound was excellent. I ordered a real subwoofer amp with active filtering, so I expect an even lower crossover. The first…

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • A little torn

Bought as a replacement for the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 subwoofer driver.

Fits and sounds good. The outer diameter is slightly smaller than the original driver, so the speaker grille needs to be fixed with double-sided tape or something to reattach the speaker. This is due to the reduced diameter of the speaker's exterior as the speaker grille for the old driver blends into the surrounding background. As some others have said, this is not an exact copy of the Klipsch driver, but it holds up well. I've been running the driver slowly throughout the day, gradually…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Almost never

Great replacement for Klipsch Promedia 2.1

Tried first to glue a replacement foam surround onto an original Klipsch woofer after it fell apart but didn't work. It's a messy job, difficult to line everything up while the glue dries too quickly etc. Ordering this great value speaker for just over the price of the kit was MUCH easier. It looks very well made and is of great value. There's plenty of bass, and I don't even feel the need to crank the bass control more than halfway. Just a few notes: - The screw mounts fit perfectly and you…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

Suitable to replace Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 subwoofer

I bought this speaker to replace the speaker in my Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 PC speakers. Other reviews here convinced me to order, so I'm adding mine. I just installed and tested the speaker, sounds great. I have a hard time comparing the quality of the original speaker as it died some time ago and I went without it for a while. Look, if you're really picky about the nuances of speaker differences, then don't buy a $30 6.5" computer for your small 2.1 computer system (even though it's a GREAT 2.1…

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
