Review on 🚪 Steck Manufacturing Car and Light Truck Door Spring Tool (Model 21910) by Adam Bates

Bought "used" from Revain for $11. Arrived 2 days later, item repackaged but no signs of wear. The doors of my '98 Chevy 1500 sagged and had to be slammed shut. Door pins and bushings replaced. While at it I decided to replace the 20 year old springs. I removed the old springs with a screwdriver. I tried installing the message springs with some zip ties but they broke. I've also tried compressing the springs in the terminal and using #12 AWG solid copper wire. But the copper will break or I'll never be able to keep the spring compressed enough to install it. After more than an hour of failure I bought this tool. Insert the spring into the tool and tighten with a wrench. Place it in the door jamb and release the spring. Installation takes less than 2 minutes. When I closed the door, there was a loud "crunch". I opened and closed the door several times to reassure the source. I sprayed the door pins, bushings and spring with WD-40 dry lubricant. Do not use regular WD-40 as it is not intended to lubricate parts. I opened and closed the door a few more times and the noise went away. Don't forget to oil the tailgate and hood while you're there. The tool is made in the USA.
