For comparison, I'm 5ft 9in and 135lbs. I've tried black in both small and medium, but neither worked for me. The small was too tight on the leg and rolled when squatting and the medium one was a little too loose on the leg and didn't feel secure in my squat. The material is very soft, like a cotton blend. and black and white plaid. The husband said that all 4 of these colors do not crouch. I have a light black and white stripe and a checkered one in the middle color. They feel like a soft nylon blend. The black striped medium color is my favorite. It's a slightly thicker material than the others and doesn't roll on me at all. Any of these colors will do if you're not squatting. They all look, fit and feel good.
