The laptop cannot detect the monitor when AMD Free Sync is enabled. See the first photo. This occurs when using the HDMI to HDMI cable that came with the monitor. The laptop supports v1.4 HDMI. Same issue when using USB-C to DisplayPort cable and also when using USB-C to HDMI v1.4 cable. The laptop features a Ryzen 7 4700u processor with an integrated AMD Radeon GPU with 2GB VRAM. The AMD Radeon application on my laptop reads the laptop's built-in display to indicate that AMD Free Sync is enabled. So obviously the laptop supports AMD FreeSync. And note that the monitor model number read by the AMD Radeon application is DX238A1. See the first photo. On the contrary, the HD-238 model is listed on the back of the monitor. See second photo. Irrespective of this, the surface of the LED is matt and not glossy.
