My first iron was from FHI about ten years ago. I liked it and used it for about five years until it fell off and broke (still usable but the panels were a bit loose). After that I settled on cheaper brands like Sedu and HSI, which were also quite good. After dropping my last iron (which completely shattered the plates) I decided to try FHI again and couldn't be happier. I'm not sure why I wasted my time with other brands. Pros: - heats up quickly - long wire (much longer than others) - doesn't burn hair - loves floating plates - glides easily through hair - durable Cons: - when I use it for curling, my hair isn't as smooth as plates and creates some friction that pulls on the hair - I don't recall this happening on a regular FHI heat platform (other brands haven't had this issue either). While I'm not particularly happy with curling, it's a straightener so it's exceptional for what it's designed for. Just a little disappointed as I've updated based on the description that the plus is better for curling.
