I LOVE this straightener so far, I've had an older FHI model for about 10 years and I was so sad when it finally broke! But I dared, although it's only been a month, I really like it.

Short lifespan. Rarely used (4_5) times because I try not to heat my hair. It's been almost a year and when I plugged it in today the light wouldn't come on or get hot. I spent over 100€ on it and definitely didn't get my money's worth. Tempo. The dial is also difficult to read. Disappointed and cannot return. Nice packaging and good reputation so I bought it but am very upset that I spent so much and can't return or exchange.

My first iron was from FHI about ten years ago. I liked it and used it for about five years until it fell off and broke (still usable but the panels were a bit loose). After that I settled on cheaper brands like Sedu and HSI, which were also quite good. I've never used a hot iron before but it was very easy to find out. On days when I'm in a hurry, it's quicker for me than hot rollers or curling irons. I didn't give it five stars because the temperature dial is in an awkward position and hard to see, especially for those of us who need readers.

Fhi irons don't last long. I had the Platform Plus for 8 months and it stopped heating. The light will be on, but there will be no heating. I have curly hair and I straighten it maybe 5 times a year and it stays at home. So it had no signs of wear and tear that it stopped working so quickly. FHI have been using hair straighteners for many years, the only brand I use. I ordered this product because I thought the slanted plates would make it easier to straighten and curl my hair, but the lightweight straightener doesn't do the same straightening job as my previous FHI irons. I have thick, curly hair that needs a heavier flat iron to straighten it with minimal flat iron passes. It works well for thinner and thinner hair and does not attack the hair's natural texture.

This iron is fantastic! The plates are smooth, non-stick and do not pull hair out. The hair looks very shiny after use, I don't have to straighten it multiple times and it doesn't look frizzy or damaged. Been using it for a few months now and still no problems! Love!
