I bought these for my gazebo to stream music from my iPhone via Bluetooth. I've just installed and tested it, so I can't confirm its reliability yet, but here are some initial thoughts on functionality.1. Easy to set up and connect the speakers. It has an odd speaker wire connection on the active speaker, but if you've got a straight-tipped jeweler's screwdriver, connecting the two speakers is a breeze. A passive speaker has more traditional +/- terminals. After the wire is together, it is connected.2. Easy to install brackets. The mounts are pretty well thought out. "Key-Slot" cutouts for horizontal and vertical installation of the speakers allow for hanging with screws. It is easier to install the brackets away from the speakers, but the buttons to attach the speakers to the brackets are easy to use.3. The sound quality is good to very good. Not great, mind you. It's not Bose, but it's not Bose for the price either. They sound good for cheap outdoor speakers. I'm not sure why the other reviewer said otherwise unless their speaker wires crossed polarity (the instructions warned this would affect the sound quality). Just make sure your speaker wire has a rib or line on a wire so you can make sure you have plus to plus and minus to minus. The Bluetooth capabilities are really good. I was moving around, phone in hand, streaming music, and at 30-35 feet the signal was not lost. Plus, the Bluetooth setup was easy. After turning it on, Pyle speakers showed up in my Bluetooth connections on my iPhone. Click connect and go! There was even an audible chirp through the speaker confirming the device was connected.5. Negative. Not everything you need is included! As mentioned, the wired connection of a speaker to a powered speaker has this little (detachable) connector with tiny slotted screws that require a jeweler's screwdriver to open the slot to insert the wire and then close the slot to close the wire clamp. It was odd, and the only reason I don't see traditional terminal blocks like the other speakers is because it's easy to disconnect the wires from the wall-mounted speaker. Speaker neutral is also provided. Not even briefly. I'm not sure why they couldn't include at least a short low budget wire to get you started. Being an audio engineer, I keep a coil handy, but most likely not, so be aware that you'll probably have to run to a place like Walmart to find speaker wire (and possibly behind a jeweler's screwdriver). 6. Oh, while the instructions aren't overly complicated, they're a bit misleading. The way the setup is worded, it looks like the speaker wire is already connected to one of the speakers. As I mentioned earlier, it's not included at all.7. material quality. As I mentioned the speakers themselves are not a Bose equivalent but for what you are paying they are very good! I did not remove the shelter to inspect the materials. Outdoors, I hope they chose a good moisture-proof diffuser. I will correct this rating if the durability is not enough. The speaker enclosure appears to be poly/plastic that will not rust. Seems sturdy enough for what you pay. The handles for attaching the speaker to the mount are also plastic, but with a brass insert and metal screw in the plastic handles. Bracket - plated metal. Sturdy enough and, as I mentioned, designed to allow speakers to be mounted both horizontally and vertically.8. Another minus. While the sound can be adjusted in bass, treble and volume, this is done using the buttons on the back of the active speaker. I would probably give this one 5 stars if there was an app that could make these audio adjustments so you don't have to awkwardly reach into the small space between the back of the speaker and the wall it's mounted on to blindly fiddle and adjust (although admittedly the brackets allow you to tilt/rotate the speaker to reveal the rear). This is pretty much my run. Hope this review helps. I've tried to flesh out what I see as positives and negatives about them, but overall based on my initial thoughts I'm happy with the purchase.
