This may be due in part to my use case, but it didn't work as I expected. I use it to protect my fridge overnight. The intent was to snap the buttons together. While this more or less works, there are some feature limitations that make it less than ideal otherwise do it. Lock it without a combo. As suggested, you have to press the unlock button to lock it. 2) Retractable cable will not snap into place. You don't need a combination to adjust the length of the cable. If you want to use this to connect two open loops together, this won't work for you. 3) Finally, it may be easier to use if the operator is on the side and not between the retractable cable and the latch.
