It feels like people have unrealistic expectations of me

I find it strange that so many people leave such negative reviews. It feels like people have unrealistic expectations of me. I mean it's a cable lock that costs $11. It does the job and works as it should, which I think is exactly what I should be getting for the price. I've used it several times now on the slopes with no problems.

Inexpensive lock to keep your belongings safe.

I just needed a cheap lock to keep my snowboard safe. This lock is easy to use, lightweight and easily fits in my pocket. Although it's bigger than my other lock I own, it's half the price of this one. The only downside to this lock is that the length of cable does not lock firmly when the lock is locked. The cable may still be slack when locked, so make sure the cable is fully extended and any excess cable is rolled up.

I often use this cable lock

note to self don't try to coil the cable with one hand. He broke my ankle like a Mo-Fo and I made up new swear words. But it turned out to be very handy for securing my belongings. I used it to seal my dry bag and attach it to the boat while snorkeling. I used it to clip a locked piggy bank to the table while I was walking. I used it to lock my laptop in my backpack and attach it to a table and chair while using the restroom at Starbucks.

Good inexpensive ski lock

I had to replace a ski lock that I have been using for several years. A thin steel cable broke right on the fitting/frame fixed in the lock body. This new lock was identical to my old lock and works great. The only criticism is that sometimes the pin you press to lock the cable isn't always seated properly (same thing happened with my old lock). This problem is easily solved by pressing the release button when inserting the pin into the lock body. The rack will then snap into place and all youโ€ฆ

Functional but not perfect

This may be due in part to my use case, but it didn't work as I expected. I use it to protect my fridge overnight. The intent was to snap the buttons together. While this more or less works, there are some feature limitations that make it less than ideal otherwise do it. Lock it without a combo. As suggested, you have to press the unlock button to lock it. 2) Retractable cable will not snap into place. You don't need a combination to adjust the length of the cable.
