Review on MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk Gaming Motherboard by Mateusz Cieciora ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the product suited me, the price is generally perfect.

The manufacturer did not place any kind of seal on the box, which shocked me because it made it difficult to tell at the pick-up location if someone had already opened the box or not. But, the plastic bag within the box is sealed. Includes two sata cables.

Pros
  • so long as it functions reliably. The chipset offers passive cooling, and Windows 11 will be happy if you purchase and install a hardware TPM module or use fTPM, which is already built into the processor. The system unit is transformed into a Christmas tree with RGB lights (you can pick up 5050 RGB tapes). Your computer is made twice as happy by two network adapters. Many overclocking and tuning options are available in the BIOS (which it is better for unprepared users not to touch at all). Without flashing the BIOS, Ryzen 9 was selected immediately (however, flashing the BIOS in modern boards is finally done well - just stick the flash drive into a specific usb port and press the button, but before you had to get a younger processor to flash it).
Cons
  • I don't know why, but MSI does not include Q-connectors on the boards despite how useful they are and how absurdly expensive they are. When the board is already crammed into the case, connecting the front panel wires (if they are not joined in any way) can be quite challenging; a Q-connector would have made things much easier. However, ErP does not function at all as it should - when I turn on ErP, the board disables only one usb port (which is for flashing the BIOS), the remaining ports provide power, respectively, and the mouse is lit, the external HDD is lit, the usb-garland is lit, and the computer draws 4 watts from the power supply. Unfortunately, the BIOS does not have a function to configure the power of each of the usb ports in the off state and hiber The flashing USB port also receives electricity if ErP is off. I had to switch the garland off. Maybe they made a mistake in the firmware and will change it soon, or maybe I'm just so dim that I don't get it (but the previous MSI board turned off all usb ports during hibernation).
