the wire in the photo is braided. The wire I received is NOT braided at all. In fact, it hardly curls and breaks very easily. the wire is not thin. I've tried creating more twist to keep it tight, but even with pliers it's not an easy task. I use it for some frames but I will only use it for lighter frames and am hoping to find braided wire somewhere on Amazon. although the price is great (it was about $3 when I bought it) and again - it seems pretty solid. so strong that it was difficult to wrap and bend the picture hangers I intended to use them with. I've included some photos to show how flimsy the wire is. The first photo didn't help. Second, after twisting the crap out with pliers, I twisted the wire myself before wrapping it around myself to secure my knot. I had to use pliers for both. The last photo is just the original wire on my thumb (sorry for the tendon scar).
