I have 2 similar American Porter wire grinders that have lasted over 20 years of daily use in the sign industry. We will periodically change brushes, clean communications, change the cable. They fall off the benches, get beat up and just keep ticking. We booked one of these as a backup so we wouldn't get caught during scheduled maintenance. The new one is made in Mexico and although it sat on the shelf most of the time it broke within 18 months. There is a 10-24 bolt that attaches the entire eccentric mechanism to the sheared shaft. I'm not an engineer, but I'm smart enough to realize that this is a serious design flaw. After disassembling the gearbox, the EZ-out allowed me to remove and replace the bolt to use again, but I'm not sure it will hold. Porter Cable, you blew your reputation by planting this crap on us. You have lost a regular customer.
