I'm so used to home security cameras with IR capabilities that I just assumed everyone had them. Well they don't. This camera is just a camera. The camera itself produces a great image, but the way it's mounted means you'll have to keep adjusting it until it's lined up exactly where you want it. I had mine where a small ladder would allow me to get there, but if it was higher or more difficult to access it would be quite a task to install. The direction he is facing is not very obvious when looking into the camera itself. Bullet cameras are easier to see where they're pointing by simply looking at the camera itself. Low light image quality is very, very good. If you need a camera for a well-lit area, then this is a good camera. I wouldn't use it in very low light areas, but you'll need an IR camera for that anyway. This is a real POE camera. That's very little for a camera of this quality. His picture is very, very good. Setting it up for use with a computer is a little tedious, but the forum set up by the seller will give you fairly quick and (though not overly polite) helpful answers. If you are not familiar with your computer's Ethernet settings, you can use it with a commercial/off-the-shelf NVR or have someone else install it. My only complaint is about this camera. The camera itself is shaped like an eyeball (hence the name) and is oriented fairly similar to an eyeball with a set screw and wear pad/bumper to keep the eyeball in place after aiming. I wrapped tape around the RJ45 connector because the waterproof(?) connector that came with the device didn't feel that tight even after tightening the threads.
