Worked out just fine, however I was not able to use the attachments that provide different spray patterns, as it caused the birdbath to go dry. Had to just use it in " bubbler mode". I bought it to provide circulation in the birdbath, to slow down the algae growth- which it does. Attachments would likely work OK in a deeper birdbath/ container. Does work well, even on a cloudy day- which was a nice surprise. So, in summary it would be fabulous for a deeper " bowl", but is just OK for a shallower one. EDIT: worked well for about 4 months, then solar panel became " corroded" with hard water deposits, which could not be removed. Had to trash it, unfortunately. Would not re purchase, as it was basically a " disposable" item
