This is my first magnetic stirrer. The fact that magnets of various sizes were included in the kit was extremely helpful to us. Switching on/off is easy to use. It doesn't feel cheap, so once you've typed it, it's easy to use and doesn't get out of control. If the magnet goes to the side, just turn it off, then slowly turn it back on and it will reset. If you turn it on quickly and the liquid doesn't offer enough resistance, the magnet will spin up. never mind The platform is big. I use a 3000 ml glass. I would take another.
