Ideal cheap differential bushing repair

Rear differential bushings on my car are worn out. When I put it in reverse I noticed that they went out. Loud knocking and knocking can be heard even on the road when accelerating. It was estimated it took about 4 hours of labor plus parts, which came to around $500. I did a bit of research and found a YouTube video of a guy taking his worn diff bushings off and rebuilding them with this product. I figured if you were going to go to all the trouble of removing bushings, just install new ones. So I was wondering if I could fix worn bushings without removing them. I used a hydraulic jack to center the hub bolts in the center of the hub shell and jack the diff up a bit. After it was trued, I used a brake cleaner spray to clean dirt off it and wiped it dry. I then filled the gaps with this 3M Windo Weld Gasket using a 3M caulking gun. I left the jack in place for 48 hours to allow the sealant to fully cure. I slowly lowered the jack and the weight of the differential was held by newly formed 3M Windo Weld bushings. I turn on reverse, you go, you go, there is no knock and knock. It worked. And then hit the road with no hits or problems so far. I gave it an "Easy to remove" star because it's sticky and difficult to get off your fingers, so wear a rubber glove. Although being sticky in this situation is a good thing. I definitely want it to snap to straddle and it does. 5 stars overall because it's a great, durable, hard but slightly flexible rubber compound.
