Review on Instapark ADF Series GX990T: Solar Powered Auto Darkening Welding Helmet with 4 Optical Sensors - Adjustable Shade Range #5 - #13 Bluish Devil by Darrell Beecher

Controls tiny thin headgear

The huge screen is great. The controls aren't that great. The headgear is flimsy and often falls apart while I'm using it, and doesn't lock in the "up" position until I turn the friction knobs down, so I can't lower it all the way down. Forget flipping it over with a simple nod. I thought it would be really cool to finally be able to adjust the TIG helmet for blackout, sensitivity and delay for different jobs and conditions. Turns out all the tiny adjustment knobs and slider can only be adjusted properly with bare hands while looking at the controls, so not wearing a helmet. Then of course you'll have to reattach it and start welding again to see if you've made the adjustments you made the way you wanted. PITA and more trouble than it's worth. I still use it because of the large viewing window but will never buy it again. Update 3/11/18: I spent more time this morning getting this stupid thing to stop blinking than cooking. I'm done with this. I'm going back to my old trusty Miller pro-hobby craze, even if that means giving up the big big viewport. The star count is reduced to one since Revain does not have zero stars.
