I needed to connect a high-end graphics card, but my HP computer's original PSU cannot be upgraded. This small connector allowed me to add a second power supply by daisy-chaining it with the first power supply's SATA connector. This little thing works great when there's no way to connect a new power supply to old plugs. Thanks genetically! BTW, I would recommend wrapping the connector with electrical tape so the solder joints don't touch the metal case and don't close.
