Review on 💪 High Power Wireless-N 600Mw Pro USB Adapter - Amped UA600EX by Donnie Boss

I have a guest house about 250-300 feet behind my house on the hill. I like to use it for my office, but I don't have internet access. I have a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580 from Time Warner that provides WiFi in my house and gives me a signal all the way to the front door of the guest house but doesn't penetrate the stucco walls. Try the Amped SR10000 Range Extender/Follower. Either it wasn't a solution or I couldn't figure out how to set it up but either way it didn't work and I got frustrated and returned it. Return to the drawing board. Researched wireless connections and installed cables in the guest house. Expected to be $600 per year (minimum). Another option was from Amped with their professional range extender and access point; one-time $300-350. When I was testing this option, I saw the USB adapter on their website, read the reviews, and decided to give the UA600EX a try. I was having trouble getting my new Windows 7 laptop to accept the device. Downloaded the drivers repeatedly, both from the CD and from the internet from the Amp website. Sometimes it would work sporadically and then just shut off. I called support. The guy walked me through a few steps, didn't seem to solve anything. He told me that something was probably wrong with the antenna and prepared me to return. When I hung up I tried again and the laptop did one of those great things that makes computers so attractive - stalled - thought I blew a fuse and ruined it. I rebooted and you know what? Now it reads the USB adapter. The adapter has a nice long cord so I just installed it behind the door and pointed it at my house on the hill and the cord fits nicely under the door's protective film so it can be closed. Works great most of the time, although sometimes I have to unplug and plug back in. Conclusion - for my situation this is the best solution. If all you need is a computer with internet access and enough patience for the driver to recognize the device (I hope my situation wasn't default), then this $100 is what you need. PS: gives me 5 bars
