Review on Chemex Classic Pour Over Glass Coffeemaker Kitchen & Dining for Coffee, Tea & Espresso by Julie Flores

This is The One.: Kitchen & Dining

TL; DR - Buy this if you love great coffee Background: I want the brew to be smooth and full of all the subtle, deep flavors that make great coffee. A drink I'd want to spend a month's salary on an espresso machine for, but unfortunately my priorities have shifted. I've gone as far as I can with a great grinder, great beans, and a lot of effort with a variety of brewing tools. I'm good at running/cup by cup in grind/ratio/heat/time equations for AeroPress, multiple sizes of MokaPots including a pair of Brikka, multiple French presses, Vietnam drip, automatic drippers (basket and cone type ), to adjust. blah blah blah with an acceptable, if not high, success rate. With each one, I reach the "It's just as good, but I want a little bit better" plateau. Of course, none of them compare to a real $$$$$$ espresso machine. In terms of cost, Brikka for cream will be the closest thing possible. I'm saying all of this to say this: A first outing with my new Chemex 10-Cup Classic, a round white pleated filter, the grind I normally use for my Brikka and the addition of 208° distilled water resulted in a drink, Who doesn't skimp on anything like all I ever wanted my cup of coffee to be. Hands down the best brew ever. THIS brews the kind of coffee that will make you both forget about work for 10 minutes of pure bliss and leave a smile on your face when you come back to it. I read other reviews. If this one breaks for any reason, I'll buy another one. Oh my god, that's not titanium, that's borosilicate glass. The only reason I even considered buying it was because my $50 automatic dripper's reservoir broke while driving. This is not BIFL. They are for those who are ready to brew a cup of coffee with a sleek, simple tool. For that matter, it's The One. Now I can only show you the door. You're the one who has to go through this.
