The product looked the same but the 'left hand' fitting that went to the radiator was slightly smaller and fitted correctly . The coolant leak just stood there without moving. Yes it was lined up in the groove and the pin was fully locked. I had a leak from the "right" port on the stats, but it turned out to be a bad gasket. The old one just had a bad gasket, to fix that I removed the gasket from the new product that wasn't working and put it in the old one. My truck is a 2013 ford f150 stx. I figured if I had to remove it I might as well replace it, and $30 isn't such a big deal. But if it had been a crack plug I would have been an even unhappier tourist.
