Great hitch, defiant for farm trucks

This is a great hitch. I work with a lot of 'hitched' implements and objects (some of which I would hardly describe as tractors) and this hitch does the job perfectly. The stem that goes into the receiver is solid steel, which is a nice touch. I suppose it's a lot more durable, but it makes it heavy - not too bad. The hitch also protrudes slightly from the receiver, so unlike most standard mounts you can't just slide it in and secure, you have to line up the holes for the 5/8" curved pin. This hitch *can* be used to mount the ball, but I wouldn't advise: firstly, it's terribly inconvenient to work and pull with it, secondly, the holes are conical, the diameter of the holes in the legs is smaller than that Outer Diameter: Your ball can swing (unlikely if properly tightened BUT it is possible) or just being too loose isn't good. The hitch came with a cheap hitch pin, but I replaced it with a 7/8" x .8" double red tipped HH pin and it works great. [See: Farm Truck] The hole size is 1", so The 1" hitch pin will fit, but it's as big as it can go, but shouldn't be a problem for most. Leg spacing is 2 inches, as expected. If you need more clearance I think there is another manufacturer that makes the fork hitch wider leg spread, but at 2 inches those legs should be spread wide enough to take the load for most tools. Also, the distance from the front of the stem to the hole is 2-1/4 inches, so if the hole is wider on your tongue, it won't fit between your legs and can be clipped together.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Got trouble
