Review on ๐Ÿณ Enhance Your Culinary Experience with the Vasconia 4-Cup Granite Molcajete Mortar and Pestle by Juzer Rashid

Looks very attractive but the bowl is too smooth

I had to replace my Molcajete and was trying to find it with Revain made from traditional basalt stone. Since I couldn't find any, I decided on granite. I LOVE the way it looks, it's very attractive. I also like the size of the bowl. It comfortably holds 2.5 cups with enough room to handle everything in the cup. It was easy to season because the bowl was already so smooth. And that is a problem for me and the reason why I have to buy another one. The bowl is too smooth. My old one was very porous so he was quick with tomato skins, roasted chilli skins etc, breaking them up into small pieces for salsa or smooth pulp for sauces depending on how much you've worked with it. In this smooth granite bowl, the skin remained almost intact, only the flesh was scooped out, leaving large chunks." Aggressive grinding will eventually crack them, but it ended up with a cheeky texture unsuited to chunky salsa. I didn't like the shape of the tappet either. When I was done, the rounded end made my hand look like a twisted claw. I'll use this for an appealing dish to hold salsa or veggies, but for real everyday use I need something more authentic.
