The steel in these reverse-threaded bushings was too soft to successfully cut into the nut. I tried to get it to work by twisting the nut so the socket was snug and snug. Each time, the bushing's threads broke off and didn't hold tight enough to unscrew the locking tab. I ended up cutting off the locknut and lug with a cutter to remove the wheel. I think such a tool could work if the steel in it was harder.
