This is a simple gate but I needed a simple solution to actively protect the driver from curious cats. I have some fancy expensive grills on hand, but the outside diameter of the grill and the prominent trim rings would be too large to fit in the tight space between the cutout and the top of the box. But as shown in this picture, the strip is narrow and doesn't extend past the top of the box. Pre-drill the holes only halfway with a little smaller than the 4 screws provided and it will be very secure.
