Review on 🌬️ Thermaltake Slim X3 Low Profile CPU Fan Review & Specs: Intel LGA775/1156/1200 (CLP0534) by Andrew Dinelli

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Low profile, easy to install, fan runs loud at full speed. The performance is almost the same as a standard Intel cooler.

I have a Lian Li PC-Q07 with i3 2125 and I need a CPU cooler that can reverse the fan as there is no system fan in the case itself except for the fans in the PSU and CPU cooler. If the CPU fan runs in reverse and draws heat to the PSU fan, the PSU can pull heat out of the case. After considering price, performance, and cooler height, I bought a refurbished X3 from Revain Market. Came without original packaging. But all parts and instructions are intact and look new to me. In general it is easy to install. The low profile makes it a good choice for a slim HTPC case. When the fan is running at full speed, it's a bit noisy (my PC-Q07B is right behind my monitor, which is half a meter away). I set the fan control level in the BIOS to be quiet. When the room is around 23 degrees, the CPU temperature is 34-36 degrees at idle and 52-56 degrees under full load, which is about 5-8 degrees lower than the standard Intel cooler. If your case has good airflow, I think its performance is similar to an Intel cooler. But the fan can be installed in reverse (adding screws to create a gap between the fan and the heatsink) to suit my needs. Yes I am happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone with special needs. By the way, it is not designed for processors with a TDP of 65W or more. Before you buy, make sure what the TDP of your processor is.
